I greatly improved the design of Y2550 OEC trimmer head.
I greatly improved the design of "Yard Works Y2550 OEC" trimmer head.
This trimmer was near useless. I spent more time pulling weeds out of the crack in the trimmer head, so it could spin, than I spent working.
I am not exaggerating. This trimmer could only be used on short grass.
I made a modification, a prototype temporary modification that has worked so well, I haven't yet made a permanent attachment.
I made the modification last year. I used it today and last week. I have not yet had to cut and pull out any weeds.
It now works like it should.
Shoot me an email address to a design engineer??? and I will take a picture, and explain what it does; though any engineer worth his/her salt will see from a picture.
The hardware store no longer sells these, and has no parts, despite me being told by the manager that they stand by what they sell.
I managed to find replacement bump heads, but not from the company.
I will never again by something so cheaply made. Mine now works well with my modifications.

Garbage lawn mower
They never contacted me. Their service outlets are useless.
When I first purchased the mower there was problems so the following summer I called one of their service repair service center.
They never answered the phone. I called a second one and they didn't even want...
If I cant fix it in the next week or so I will scrap this piece of crap lawn mower
It was used for around a month when it died. I looked to find out who services Yard Machines and got two in the area. One of the services never answered the phone, and the other told me that he thinks it was the gasoline. He didn't even want me to bring it in to check it.
He claimed if it was the gas, they wouldn't cover it. I was annoyed, so I checked it myself. I went as far as draining the gasoline, cleaned the carburetor and the fuel tank replaced the spark plug, then fill it with new premium gasoline. I used it again, it lasted a while, then it died again.
The next year, I played with it again, and it stopped working again. I stopped using it and decided to use the weed eater till this year. I now got it to work even though it's not running good because it won't last more than 10 minutes before it stops. It seems that the way it's running and dying after 8 to 10 minutes that it may be the coil.
The reason for this review is not that I expect anything to come of it, but on my end, I had enough with your crap service and piece of garbage lawn mower. I intend to go on social media sites and review sites and inform as many as I can about the type of inferior lawn mowers you sell. They are not worth buying for any price. The sad part is I didn't even get one full season with the pile of crap.
I will try one more time in the next couple of weeks before I toss this where it belongs in the garbage.
I don't like to give up but I think its time. What a total waste of money.
